Fireflies.

Fri Jun 6, 2008, 8:13 PM
Note* this entry might as well suck. I'm kind of ticked off - I just spent a good 30minutes typing you guys something special.
AND MY STUPID INTERNET EXPLORER REFRESHED. AND. RAWRFREAKINRAWR.

*passes hand over face... :pissed: -> :crying: -> :aww: *

Okay so. *collects thoughts*
Summer is finally here.
Now you're probably wondering what's messed up with my brain? Did I have a meltdown or something from being angry? Did I inhale too many fumes while opening the pool today? Well, most likely yes to both of those... but not the case.

For me it's never summer until I see my first firefly.
Now I do realize that the fireflies most likely have been out for a few days, if not weeks by now... however, my life has been so busy, so fast paced as of late - I never even had the time to take a glance into my own back yard.

Then last night, around 10pm I took my pup, Woody, for his walk and noticed something weird in the corner of my eye... At first I thought it was a plane but then after observing the open sky for awhile I spotted it again and sure enough it was the tiny fire butt critter.

Just to be sure though I walked out behind the pool and into the open field and stopped dead.

There in my backyard, beyond the neighborhood lights in the dark depths of night was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. A field of magic... The entire section plus over the pond was lit up with sparkling wonder as thousands of fireflies danced around.

I really would like to take a picture of it when I have the chance but I have two problems at hand.
1. How on earth to capture the tiny little fireflies with my camera in the pitch black...
2. How to get close enough for the picture since our field is practically flooded due to the storms we had the other day.

Perhaps I'll go take a video of it all... load it somewhere... I hope that, at the very least works...

So - why does a firefly signify summer for me?

Well, like most - fireflies spark images of warm summer nights spent with friends or family running around the yard chasing the bugs.

I did that when I was young... but only one of those times was really special.
At the beginning of every summer Dad and I would sit outside and wait each night for the first sign of fireflies...
When we finally saw the first one I would run down into the yard and catch it and bring it back to him.
Every Firefly meant a story. Every story was different and they were always interesting to my young mind... then, he would take the firefly and squish it onto my shirt - Yea, I know that sounds gross, but I didn't care because the result was a small stain that would glow all night... He told me that it was the critter's magic and now with it all to myself I would have a wonderful summer.

I always did too. I really did believe in that magic. Little did I know that my dad was killing a firefly... which is why I don't do it anymore. Still. That's what they mean to me. The start of summer. A Great summer to be. :giggle:

Unfortunately. This being the first DAY of summer for me metaphorically speaking... I got sun burnt. What really bothers me, is that I put sunscreen I never remember to do - I just missed the are beneath my should blades because I'm not use to the back of my shirt being cut so low. *sigh*
Anyone have some vinegar?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Firefly come back to me
Make the night as bright as day
I'll be looking out for you
Tell me that you’re lonely too
Firefly come lead me on
Follow you into the sun
That’s the way it ought to be
Firefly come back to me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Still. It's going to be a good summer. Short. But good.

But in all other business:
I saw a hotty mchotpants (lolmaureen) today.
And I took a gander at him, yes gander Mr. Turpin.
And I shall gander at him again given the opportune moment.
*snickers* :giggle:
I totally just misquoted TWO JDepp movies. YES!

A kiss if you guess which two!

I wonder why some of you read this.
Not you China, you reading this makes perfectly logical sense seeing as you are about as sane as I am. By the way love, we're making that one permanent - the China thing. Has a nice ring donca agree? China. And hey, it still begins with a "C", so there you go.
Now, back to the rest of you.
Why do you read this? Really.
My thoughts are rather muddled and while this is as translated as it gets a lot of my journal is still in Jessica.
Senseless thoughts splat onto the page.
To the untrained eye it looks like an ADD kid got excited with a new pack of pens. But to someone like myself it's logical book work.

Poor DKrack. He saw the ADD kid. You should've of seen the look on his face when he had to read my Grad. Project notes.
Pained. That's what it was... :spin: kind of like that smile. Only DK isn't Jamaican... at least, I don't think so. I would hope not. He's soooo... white. And so wannabe black.

Yes.

I had other stuff to say. Interesting stuff too. But my mind fails me. Failure mind.

La.
Hahaha.
Hey!!!
Does anyone remember A*Teens or B*Witched? Cool bands with *'s in their names.
I remember them, I still know almost all of A*Teens songs - every word.
Too bad they fell off the planet.

Okay.....
Wait....
Almost...
Yes...
Out of steam.

Hehe, no more... :typerhappy: ..Though it can be fun.

To those of you whom actually Read all that.
Even in its utter crapness due to pure angry and agony it was written with.
I salute you.
Thanks real friends with no lives.
I loooove you. :love:

I'm sorry. Their songs had more soul and their boys were hotter.
I liked N*Sync.
But I stand behind the Boys. To this day.

no no no.... N*Sync was WAY better looking!
The Backstreet boys were ok.... but they way i see it is, you're either an N*sync girl, or a Backstreet Boys girl....... kinda like you're either an Elvis man or a Beatles man

nonononononono man... Beatles. Now Beatles fans can like Elvis, and Elvis fans can like Beatles, but no one likes them both equally... so i'm not saying Elvis is bad... its just the Beatles are better.

lol, well its 11:53 the PM and i'm not familiar with Hannah's number, but she might know mine and i'm pretty sure i'm free tomorrow if YOU get this in time and wanna phone me, OR just make Hannah come over an pick me up, OR tell Hannah to invite me and Kaitlin Zurawsky and i'll make KAITLIN take me.
